Well, there is no Indian story complete without a dash of spicy episodes-and unIndian is a perfect recipe which embraces love, celebrates & unites Indo-Aus multicultural diversity and makes these differences completely fair in the field of love, with many heart welming (warm & melting) moments.

Meet Meera (Tannishtha Chatterjee)- Beautiful divorcee and single mother of one, smart, independent women, out of the clutches of a compromised marriage, leading a successful life for herself and her daughter. There comes our hero ‘Will’ (Breet Lee) whose heart draw stumps on Meera as his lady love. Meera is battling her mind to whether accept her parent’s groom choice (suave and dashing cardiologist Samir articulately played by Nicholas Brown)  to settle back in life or take the leap & accept her love choice. Meera diverting her way to her heart not only makes the duo scandalous amongst the supremely powerful ICN ‘Indian Community Network’ but thoroughly unIndian.

Director Anupam encapsulates cricketer-turned-actor as a dashing bolly hero in his debut film and makes you bank for his win.The story intertwines the warranted shyness from Meera as she hails from a  traditional family with the modernistic approach towards life influenced by her Aussie lifestyle. The Surprise element- the Bad Man of Bollywood- Mr.Gulshan Grover (Meera’s ex-husband)! Filmmaker Anupam sure knows how to unfold Will as the ultimate hero against the villainous wall Mr.Grover and yes, you would jump with joy many times as you could see Will winning and Meera’s parents getting further convinced.

Do Meera’s parents declare Brett lee to be the ‘Man of the Match’ or force Meera to follow the traditional match decided by them? This tall and charming Aussie bloke is sure to keep you at the edge of your seat until the end as he woos Meera making their pair attractively unIndian.

Based in Sydney, this Aussie film draws great talent, enthusiasm, energy with perfectly timed comical relief and bolly rhythmic songs. The cinematography is punctuated with adroit panning, treating us with breathtaking high-angle shots of Sydney & the Indian festival of Colors ‘Holi (‘Holy with an I’ as personified by comic hero Arka Das)’. Personal favorite are the typical Indian shots where air is blowing through Meera’s hair, and the slow motion laughter and smile making her look bollywoodly enchanting & stunning; & Brett Lee in an Indian Avatar imagining himself having a successful strike as an Indian groom-a fantastic job at moving us along with his love-filled state of mind. Kudos to Anupam and the entire unIndian team.

With Brett now ready to swing his bollybat, unIndian sure is a firm Backlift he makes. Belter or rather a Cherry, Brett & unIndian definitely leave a strong mark on Bollywood. Good on ya, Mate!
